-------------------------------------------------- Nowadays, globalization is a tendency in the world. Besides studying abroad, getting a part-time job abroad, you can also choose to be an international volunteer to get to know the world. In order to advocate the importance of connecting with the whole world and make students know what international volunteer is, Office of Research and Development at NUTN held a sharing session of being international volunteer at noon on October 17, 2012. In this session, Office of Research and Development invited Yu-Ning Chang from Department of Business and Management at NUTN and Hao-Wei Chuang from National University of Kaohsiung to share their experience as international volunteers with other students. At the beginning of the session, Dean of Office of Research and Development, Prof. Chang-Shing Lee encouraged students should go abroad to expand their view and make themselves more knowledgeable. Next, the Director of the Division of Academic Cooperation- Prof. Che-Hung Liu made a brief introduction to international volunteer and offered lots of relevant information for students. As for the students’ sharing part, Yu-Ning Chang had been to Nepal as an international volunteer. First, she explained the procedure for applying and emphasized the importance of the preparation before you go. She not only described the process of being an international volunteer in Nepal but also shared her thought about the local culture impressively. Compared with Yu-Ning Chang, Hao-Wei Chuang went to Belgium. Before he jumped into the international volunteer part, he shared some interesting things and something noticeable when you go travel based on his self-travel experience and it really interested many attendants. And then, he accounted for what the works he did and other details when he was engaged in international volunteer. At the end of the sharing session, there was a Q&A time for students to ask. It not only made students have much clearer realization about international volunteer but also made the purpose of the session much more complete. It seems that this sharing session wrapped up with success. |
